April 30 - Benanti Cru Night!
Join us at la Posta for our next Cru Night, “Small Vineyards, Big Bottles”, Wednesday, April 30, when we celebrate and share the wines of Benanti Viticoltori, from the slopes of Mount Etna.
Benanti owns and farms vineyards on every slope of the volcano, so this event will provide an opportunity to compare the Etna growing areas, and a splendid chance to experience wines from very, very old, pre-phyloxxera vines, grown on their own roots, a true rarity in the wine world today. The winery is devoted to Sicily, specifically Etna; only Etna varieties are made, all organic practices, and only indigenous yeasts selected from their own vineyards.
We will open the 3 “benchmark” wines, and multiple vintages of each from Benanti Viticoltori: Pietra Marina Etna Bianco Superiore, and 2 vineyard specific Etna Rosso Riserva wines: the Serra della Contessa Particella No. 587 and the Rovitello Particella No. 341.
It is our intention with Cru Night to make extraordinary wines available to everyone, without the extra formality and expense of a fixed price dinner. We will have several specials on for the night which are specifically Sicilian.
Be sure to reserve early, as these evenings often book up early.
